Chronology of cameras Alsaphot
The uniqueness of this Dauphin model compared to others lies in its production in the Netherlands. The name "Franerex-Holland" is visible around the lens.
Alsaphot has always been associated with military history. Its foundation corresponds to a diversification of the parent company Alsetex, an Alsatian explosives company, in the 1930s, with a new establishment in Anjou. After the war, international agreements were signed, including one with an armaments company in the Netherlands. This is reflected in the "ex" suffix.
The name and logo "Alsaphot" indeed appear on the film advance button.
The lens appears to be a meniscus lens. The shutter has two speeds: 1/25 and 1/75, plus a bulb mode, and two apertures: f/8 and f/16. This model dates back to the early 1950s.
